YouApp helps residents and travellers in Malaysia discover, book, and pay like a local. Users browse identity-verified hosts offering pickleball coaching, food tours, photo walks, hikes, and classes, then confirm the time and group in chat and pay inside the app. Its wallet, YouPay, turns the app into an everyday payment method: scan any DuitNow QR code across Malaysia through MCash and pay in ringgit, with cashback at participating merchants. The balance can be topped up on-chain with MYRT, a ringgit-pegged stablecoin, and holders of other ERC-20 stablecoins can swap them into MYRT to use as their balance. The mobile app has since been rewritten from Flutter into fully native clients — Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android — to make it lighter and faster on device. As a full stack developer on the team, I work across the mobile apps, the NestJS backend, and the Next.js admin panel alongside the mobile, backend, and web engineers.
